Social Studies

The Social Studies Department strives to create a learning environment where students become informed, engaged citizens who understand the complexities of the world around them. Through a comprehensive social studies education, students develop critical thinking skills, civic responsibility, and an appreciation for diverse perspectives. By blending the social sciences and humanities, the department fosters civic competence and equips students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for responsible citizenship.

Our curriculum offers a wide range of college preparatory, as well as Advanced Placement (AP) courses including AP World History, AP United States History, AP Psychology, Law, Economics, and Civics that challenge students to think critically and connect classroom learning to real-world issues. We aim to cultivate a passion for inquiry by helping students explore the relationships between past and present, analyze contemporary issues, and make informed decisions about the world they live in.
